Welcome to Dirtstar Motorsports. We would like to
take this opportunity to introduce you to our driver, Mickey Carman
Jr. Mickey is quickly becoming a crowd favorite with his clean yet
aggressive driving style.
Mickey began his racing career in 2004 in the street stock
division. Running the entire season Mickey brought home Rookie of
the Year honors and a tenth place finish in the final season
standing.
2005 and 2006 Mickey saw very limited action in the street
stock division as work kept him away from home for much of the
racing season.
2007 saw Mickey back at the track full time again in the street
stocks. With a new car under him, Mickey put on a great show in his
second full year of racing. He recorded his first feature win and
only finished a race outside the top four one time. Bad luck and
mechanical failures plagued his season but he finished the year
fifth place in the points standing.
Mickey moved up to the modified division for the 2008 season.
A move many thought was too soon. But Mickey silenced his critics
right out of the gate with an impressive win in his very first heat
race. In fact that race was the first time Mickey turned laps in a
modified, with early season practice sessions rained out. Though
victory lane didn't always come so easy, Mickey did put on an
impressive rookie campaign winning another heat race and two B-main
races going into the last night of the season. A very special night
it was as Mickey fought and battled his way to the front and won his
first career modified A-feature over a very talented field of
competitors. That field of competitors was the highest averaging
car count of IMCA Modifieds in the country for 2008. With nearly
forty cars in the division every Saturday night.
2009 was a wonderful year for the Carman family. Mickey and
Jennifer added to their family a wonderful baby boy, Kasey. With
the hustle and bustle of a new baby Mickey and the Dirtstar
Motorsports Team saw limited action again for the 2009 season. They
ran about a dozen time in their modified with mixed results. No
feature wins in 2009 made for a bitter sweet season. The highlight
of the season was a brief merger with Late Model Owner and Legend
Butch Ebright Motorsports. Mickey drove for Butch a couple of times
late in the season gaining some valuable seat time in the wild and
fast world of dirt late model racing.
2010 is now upon us. The short merger with Butch Ebright
Motorsports has turned into a fulltime ride for 2010. Both Mickey
Carman Jr and Butch Ebright Motorsports are very excited for the new
partnership. Look for Mickey at Crystal Motor Speedway every
Saturday night and Mid Michigan Raceway Park for several Friday
night shows. For the most recent news, you can also follow Mickey
on Facebook.
